A Statistical Review 1980 vs 1981. The Morgan Horse Magazine, Feb 1982

Legacy's Viking. The Morgan Horse Magazine, Feb 1982

Inbred to Trophy, being by a grand son of his bred to a daughter of his.
He also has, besides the Gov't lines, Lippitt, Old Vermont, Brunk, and WWF.
He sired a whole lot of get with many of them breeding on, also with lines down to today.

Dobson. The Morgan Horse Magazine Feb 1982

This pedigree had Gov't, Lippitt, Old Vermont (mostly High Percent), Brunk.
Sire of 111 registered get.

Schoolmaster. The Morgan Horse Magazine Feb 1982

Upper from THM
Lower from the AllBreed site

Going down his bottom mare line, look at Jemina.
Her sire was a Hackney. Her dam was sired by a Standardbred. However, her maternal grand dam, Shelburne Maid, had a rich Morgan heritage; take a look here--
Jemina and her daughter, Little Troub (by Troubadour of Willowmoor), were unregistered. Little Troub was bred to Mansfield and that result was Lady Field who was then X registered. This was the purpose of the X rule, to bring back rich Morgan blood that otherwise would have been lost.
Schoolmaster sired 135 registered get. Many of these bred on.

Lippitt Tilly

Photo from 1952.
Full Lippitt.
Foaled 1943. Dam of 8 foals.
Note that she was inbred to Ashbrook, being out of a daughter of his and by a grandson of his.
In 1962, after Robert L. Knight's passing, she sold in the Farm Dispersal for $1500 which was an excellent price for an aged mare at that time.
Her get include:
--Lippitt Sylvanus, gelding. There is a nice photo of him here--
--Heritage. There is a poor photo here--
He was sire of Lorelei's April H, dam for Iron Horse Morgans.
--Heritage Ethan, star of the Disney movie, Justin Morgan Had A Horse.
There is a not so good photo of him here--
--Lippitt Pecos, sire of 89 get, with many of those breeding onwards. He was 1/2 Lippitt as his sire was not a full lippitt. Picture here--

Sparfield The Morgan Horse Magazine, Feb 1982

Top photo from TMH
Lower photo from the AllBreed site

Note that his parents were 3/4 siblings--both sired by Dude Spar and out of a Sonfield mare. All four of his grand parents were bred by Roland Hill, Calif. Dude Spar was sired by Sparbeau who was bred by Elmer Brown, Kansas; Sparbeau was sired by Linsley and out of Sparbelle who was by the Old Midwest and Brunk stallion, Sparhawk. Sparbelle was out of the very important producing mare, Donbelle, who was High Percent Old Vermont. Dude Spar was out of a Roland Hill mare sired by Querido and out of a Richard Sellman mare.
Sparfield's paternal grand dam was a Roland Hill mare sired by Sonfield and out of another Roland Hill mare, by Querido and out of yet another Roland Hill mare, this one sired by the Brunk stallion, Pat Allen, and out of a Sellman mare. Sparfield's maternal grand dam was also a Roland Hill mare by Sonfield. She was out of another Roland Hill mare, by Joaquin Morgan who was bred by Elmer Brown, and out of a Sellman mare.
Sparfield's pedigree has a high degree of inbreeding and line breeding to Morgans bred to be working horses. It also shows how the different Morgan families came together to form the Western Working Family.
Sparfield sired 60 registered get. He has lines to today and is sought after by astute breeders.

Rosemont Gay Eric. The Morgan Horse Magazine, Feb 1982

1/2 Lippitt, sire Moro Hill Gay Ethan.
Dam, Verdonna Vermont, was pure Brunk.
He had full sibblings--
-Rosemont Gay Melisa, shown in-hand at So. Calif. open shows with many wins. Dam of my first Morgan, Ember Bay lady.
-Rosemont Gay Tammy, lightly shown, but successful
-Rosemont Veronica, lightly shown, but successful
Rosemont Montego, very successful show gelding.
Eric sired some, but sadly, nothing really bred on.

Donlyn of Wind-Crest. The Morgan Horse Magazine, Feb 1982

Same photo, but B/W is from TMH
Color is from the AllBreed site
Yes, he does have some Saddlebred behind him. His paternal great-grand sire was the infamous Saddlebred, Upwey King Peavine. He also gets Saddlebred from his three crosses to Bennington, who was out of the Saddlebred, Mrs. Culvers.  But most of the rest of his pedigree was Old Vermont High Percent. Carolyn is twice in Donlyn's pedigree; although she does have a cross to a Standardbred, the rest of her pedigree was High Percent. The mares Ruth and Artemisia were both also Old Vermont High Percent. The Gov't Farm did a good thing crossing the Old Vermont High Percent mares to their lesser percent stallions. Then there is Troubadour of Willowmoor whose dam was Old Vermont High Percent. His sire, Troubadour, was a son of Jubilee de Jarnette who became so important in J C Brunk's breeding.  The dam of Troubadour had lines to Black Hawk and lines to Trotters (the Standardbred name and registry did not yet exist. The Trotters were the ancestors there of.)
Looking at Donlyn, it would seem that the High Percent ancestors dominated.
He sired 106 get. Many of them bred on and there are lines to today.

Spring Hills FinnLee. The Morgan Horse Magazine Feb 1982

Sired 45 get. Some bred on a ways.

Eethree Supreme. The Morgan Horse Magazine, Feb 1982

Photos above from TMH
Photo below from the AllBreed site
His sire was Gov't.
His dam, Fruita, was Western Working Family with all Kansas antecedents.
Fruita's sire, Chinquapin,  was bred by G E Hineman of Dighton, Kansas; he was a rancher who bred Morgans for his ranch work. The sire of Chinquapin, who was also the sire of Chinquapin's dam, was Chocolate who was bred by Elmer Brown of Halstead, Kansas. Chocolate sired 42 registered get in Kansas, mostly for ranch breeders. There is a good photo of Chocolate at the above link. The dam of Chinquapin, South Spot, was also bred in Dighton, Kansas, by HT Hineman. Kanza, the dam of South Spot, was another Hineman bred as was her sire Spotlight foaled 1923. Spotlight's sire, Dr Castro, was sired by Headlight Morgan during his Kansas days. The dam of Dr Castro was by Telescope Ethan, a stallion that appears often in the old Kansas ranch pedigrees. The mare line of South Spot goes back to Golddust and Kentucky breeding.
The dam of Fruita was Bessayr, one of the "Ayr" horses bred in Colorado. The Ayr horses appear in various WWF pedigrees. The sire of Bessayr goes back to Spotlight, seen in Fruita's sire; the dam line goes to another Golddust mare. The rest of Bessayr's pedigree is Roland Hill, Calif.  breeding.
Eethree sired 56 registered get. Most were for Roy-El's prefix.
