Big D Della Street. The Morgan Horse Magazine. Sept 2001

Pure Funquest

Misty Green Hennessy. The Morgan Horse Magazine. Sept 2001

His paternal grand sire was Gov't lines.
His paternal grand dam, bred by Francis Bryant, was a result of that breeder's wisdom of taking a Brunk mare, Paragraph, to the good Lippitt, Lippitt Ashmore.
Then the dam of this horse was a Triple S bred mare with a different sire than their usual.

Misty Green Jeremy. The Morgan Horse Magazine. Sept. 2001

This is an interesting pedigree.
He was close bred to the Francis Bryant mare, Precious Ashmore.
On his bottom mare line, Maderion and Arribonita, are from the old Kansas and Texas ranch breeding.

Ken Carmen. and more. Western Livestock Journal 1940 & 1941

This one single page of an old Western Livestock Journal has four important early stallions.

Ken Carmen in upper left corner.
Look at his pedigree; it is classic Brunk close breeding.
He had 54 registered get and can be found in today's pedigrees.
and
Jackson Ranch in Mt, upper right corner. Photo of Chief Bugler.
There is another photo on the above link. He had 36 registered get and is behind today's Morgans that go to Jackson ranch. His pedigree is another example of close breeding that worked.
and
He was 3/4 Sellman breeding.
Gold Dollar, lower right, important sire of many with descendants today.
His get often had "Gold D" in their names.
Read the list of his progeny at the above link; it is impressive.
and
Cuyamo, Duval Williams' stallion.
He had only 11 registered get.
Once in a while he appears in today's pedigrees.
Reading the information at the above line, it was copied from one of my articles.

From another issue, a nice little item on Ken Carmen.

Marvelous Prohecy. The Morgan Horse Magazine. August 1980

Her dam was full Lippitt and her sire was 1/2 Lippitt.
Royal Glo, the dam of her sire, had an Old Midwest sire, and a dam bred by Eve Oakley (Caven-Glo Morgans) whose sire was Brunk and Lippitt/Old Vermont. La Reina, dam of Caven-Glo Saguaro, was bred by the L U Sheep Co of Wyoming.
Prophecy's daughter, Shahaylee, was dam of some colorful foals for the UDM program.
(Note that on the All Breed site, Prophecy is listed twice--once correctly as given here and once as Phophecy)

Lippitt Rita Roy was a grand mare with many good produce. There is a full body shot of her on the above link.

Longstreet Morgans, Ina Ish (Whippoorwill) The Morgan Horse Magazine August 1980

Juliet had quite an impressive list of offspring. Her daughter, Four-K Cassandra, spent some time here with me and had SSM Fire Singer, aka Big Red, who now lives in central Arizona.

There are only two produce listed at the above link.

Ina later moved to North Carolina and also became a noted breed historian.

Robbin's Night Flight. The Morgan Horse Magazine. August 1980

At the above link there is a good full body photo. This was a handsome Morgan.

He had 11 registered get in the US. and then was exported to Great Britain where he had further get. Take a look at his progeny list on the above link.
His sire. Top Flight, was pure Brunk.
His dam, Dorothea Allen, was bred by Chilocco Agricultural School, Okla. Her sire, Barberry, was Brunk.  Her dam, Dorothy D H, was bred by Elmer Brown of Kansas and was sired by the Old Midwest Family stallion, Dude Hudson. The dam of Dorothy D H was sired by Linsley, and out of an Old Midwest Family mare, Lemax, who was sired by the good Sparhawk. Lemax's dam was by Dude Hudson, and out of Helen S by Headlight Morgan from his days in Kansas.
Robbin's Night Flight had strong breeding horses throughout his entire pedigree.
