Dude. TMH. July 2001

The first photo is the one used in the article posted yesterday. The second photo is another of Dude done by George Ford Morris.

https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/dude4
With his multiple crosses to Hales Green Mtn. 42 along with other crosses to the older high percent Vermont blood, Dude was rich in the ancient Vermont breeding. It is worth taking a detailed look at his pedigree to see all the crosses back to Justin Morgan and the paths taken.

Dude's son, Dart, comes today thru:
-Dart's son, Prince Dean to his son Dude De Jarnette, who sired many good ones that bred on;
-Dart's son, Archy L, sire of Archy Hudson who sired Archie O and others. Archy L also sired Barney Hudson who sired Kathleen McCalvin and others.
-Dart's son, Sparhawk, who sired some very good breeding Morgans for Elmer Brown in Kansas. Notably, his grandson Sparbeau, came to California for Roland Hill and sired ever so many important breeding and working Morgans. Another notable grandson was Linspar who sired at the L. U. Sheep Co. in Wy. and comes down to today in many places. Other Sparhawk descendants are literally all over the place in a multitude of today's pedigrees.

Dude's daughter, Kitty Dean, was dam of Prince Dean, mentioned above.

Elmer Brown, Halstead Kansas. TMH July 2001

A short, but very important article which is packed with information. Even today, decades later, this blood is treasured by savvy breeders.
