This stallion had Gov't on both his top and bottom lines. His paternal grand sire, Bennfield, was all Gov't and his maternal grand dam, Locket (bred by Merle Evans) was out of another Evans mare and was Gov't. Locket was sired by Hawk Jim who was purchased and used by Evans and was bred in Kansas by Elmer Brown, bringing in WWF.
Cathy Serenity, the paternal grand dam, was bred by Francis Bryant and was by Jubilee's Courage by Jubilee King (Brunk) and out of Townshend Lass who was 1/2 Lippitt (John A Darling) and 1/2 OldVermont High Percent (Gladwin, bred by E F Hoffman and owned by Anna Ella, Townshend Morgans).
The maternal grand sire was Lippitt Ashmore, and excellent sire and a full Lippitt.
Belcroft Benn sired some.
