He sired 101 get and did well in the show ring.
He has a fascinating pedigree.
HIs dam was the result of breeding the mare, Echobay, back to her sire, Duke of Windsor, who was by the Saddlebred Upwey King Peavine. Duke was out of a well-bred Brunk mare who was by Jubilee King and out of the good producing mare, Daisy Knox.
The dam of Echobay, Little Troub, was by Troubadour of Willowmoor, bringing in more good Morgan blood.
Little Troub's dam was Jemina, and she has a different background being sired by a Hackney. Then, the dam of Jemina was sired by a Standardbred. Finally, Shelburne Maid, Jemina's maternal grand dam, was a Morgan and had a solid Morgan pedigree behind her.
Little Troub had only two registered foals; one was this mare here, Echobay, and the other was Lady Field. Lady Field had many outstanding foals, mostly from Orcland Leader, including--Bar-T Lady Westwood, dam of Saddleback Senator, Mad River Aladdin, and others; Bar-T Twinkle, dam of Oakwoods prefix, and others; Deerfield Challenger, sire of many Dee-Cee prefix horses, and others; Deerfield Lady Oakland, dam of Schoolmaster, Green Dream prefix, and others; Deerfield Leading Lady, dam of Gay Dancer and many Waseeka Morgans who bred on; and others.
Jemina had only the one registered foal, Little Troub. But what a numerous family came from this.
Paramount's Emperor's sire was the well known and prolific, Paramount Ambassador, who was sired by Upwey Ben Don who was out of the very good mare, Quietude who was by Troubadour of Willowmoor and out of the Old Vermont High Percent mare, Ruth. The sire of Ben Don was Upwey King Benn, out of the Gov't bred mare, Audrey, whose dam was the mostly High Percent Carolyn. Audrey's sire was Bennington. King Benn's sire was he Saddlebred Upwey King Peavine.
The dam of Ambassador, Betty Ross, was by Mansfield. But her dam is some interesting old Vermont breeding with a significant amount of the old High Percent Morgans back there.
A first look at the pedigree shows a lot of Saddlebred. But a deeper look shows a lot of the Old Vermont High Percent Morgans.
