Sire of many.
Came from the famed Statesman's program, sired by the very good Chief of State by the wonderful The Statesman. Both of The Statesman's parents were 1/2 Lippitts.
Fleur-de-Lis, dam of Chief of State, had Government (OCR & Townshend Gaymeade), Western Working Family (Duke BK, bred by LU Sheep Co, WY), Brunk (Flyhawk, grandsire of Gayla), and some lines back to the seldom seen Golddust Morgans, back behind Gayla and her maternal great grand dam, Alleen C.
Meadowrock Melanie, dam of Statesmans Silhouette, brings another cross to the LU Sheep Co horses in her maternal grand dam, Belmuir. Melanie's maternal grandsire was bred in Kansas by the working ranch, Theis Co., and had Gov't on top and older Kansas lines in the dam. The sire of Melanie had a Gov't line dam. He then had a sire with some interesting Old Vermont lines. Be sure to trace those back.
This was a pedigree of generations of using Morgans.
