Greentree Bonniejohn. The Morgan Horse Magazine. Sept 1980

This pedigree brings together Eastern, MidWest, and Western bloodlines.
His sire was bred by the well known and long standing breeders of the Old Vermont Morgans, the Orcutt family. Orcland John Darling was 7/8 Lippitt and Old Vermont.
Bonniejohn's dam was bred by that good Wyoming breeder, Ramul Dvarishkis. Her sire was the prolific, Brunk bred, Stetson.
The dam of Bonita Graham was the Wyoming ranch bred mare, Antlers Bonnie. Bonnie's sire was Antlers Black Hawk and was bred by the L U Sheep Co. of WY. Black Hawk's sire was the very good sire of ranch Morgans and later when he went to the midwest, show Morgans, Senator Graham.
Black Hawk's dam, Fantan, was another LU Sheep Co horse and was sired by the good Elmer Brown stallion, Plains King.
Fantan's dam was another LU Sheep Co horse, and was sired by Flyhawk. The dam of this mare was Duchess, again LU Sheep, and was by the Elmer Brown bred Linspar, thus bringing another cross to the great Linsley to go with the Linsley behind Romanesque's dam. The dam of Duchess goes back to a son of the great racing Standardbred, Dan Patch. It is worth a look at Dan Patch's pedigree to see all the Morgan behind him, including a son of Justin Morgan, Revenge.
Bonniejohn's show record and sire record speaks for itself, but behind him are long lines of good using and breeding horses.
