Hy lind Lord Supreme. The Morgan Horse Magazine. April 1984

It appears that nothing of his line comes to today. But he has some interesting aspects to his pedigree. The bottom mare line goes to a California mare, Daisy Field, bred by E. W. Roberts; she was one of the mares purchased to go to Vermont to improve the eastern lines. Daisy's sire was Bret Allen, also bred by Roberts who was a very important but often overlooked breeder. Bret Allen had an excellent pedigree but had only 2 get. Only Daisy Field bred on.  The dam of Daisy Field was Daisy Sonfield, bred by Roland Hill. Daisy Field had quite a few foals for the Aldot prefix, one of whom was Aldot Daisy who was the maternal grand dam of Hy Lind Supreme
The sire of Aldot Daisy was Windcrest Encore, whose dam was Bald Mt Black Queen whose dam was Upwey Anna. Upwey Anna was one of Owen Moon's early Morgans and she was by Bennington and out of Scotanna, daughter of Scotland, a stallion who is often overlooked today. He was by General Gates and out of a mare with many different Morgan lines.
The maternal grand sire of Supreme was Tinder Box, bred in New Hampshire and sire of 24. The dam of Tinder Box was Brunk and Lippitt. The sire of Tinder Box was by that good stallion, Knickerbocker, and out of the mare, Fire, with her interesting Old Vermont lines.
It is worth while to go play on the AllBreed site and look at these pedigrees in depth.
