Lad was foaled in 1957.
His sire, Highwood L., was sired by Lobo, who was bred by C. W. Anderson the famous illustrator of those great children's books of mid-last century. Lobo was all Brunk breeding. Lobo had few get, but a few of those bred on.
Highwoods Maid was the dam of Highwood L. She was bred in Montana from old Montana, Thomas Adams breedings.
The dam of Lad, was Oratress, bred by the US Gov't Farm, VT. She was dam of some that bred on.
From the above photo, it can be seen that Lad was a good show horse in open shows. He also was in the Morgan shows of the day.
He had 18 get with some breeding on a ways.
