Her sire Arana Field, was bred in Washington and spent his life in southern Oregon with the Phil Morrison family. Arana Field's sire was the noted Gov't bred stallion, Sonfield, who sired many in California for Roland Hill and later in Washington. Lady Margaret, dam of Arana Field, was bred in Washington. Her sire was from old Montana breeding. Her dam was bred by the L U Sheep Co. of WY.
Royal Ann's dam, Roefield, also has an interesting pedigree. Her sire, Shawalla Scott, was bred in Washington. His sire, Silver Rockwood, was bred by Robert Tynan, Neb. Silver Rockwood's dam was another of the good mares bred by Elmer Brown, Kan. The dam of Shawalla Scott was bred in California and her dam was a Richard Sellman mare from Texas. Roe, the dam of Roefield, was sired by a stallion bred in Nevada by Clark Ringling who was breeding working ranch Morgans. The dam of Roe was another California bred going back to Richard Sellman stock.
This was a pedigree of working ranch Morgans from all over the western states.
