Jesse James. The Morgan Horse Magazine. Sept 1971

A Western Working Family pedigree showing how other families came to form the WWF.
His sire was bred in Kansas, as were the paternal grand parents. Both Chocolate and LuluBelle RM were bred by Elmer Brown, Halstead Kansas. He was a master breeder and one of the cornerstones of the WWF. Behind Model are the Gov't stallions, Linsley and Red Oak, both of whom went west to sire many excellent Morgans. Lady Spar has Old Midwest Family as her ancestors. Donbelle is good Old Vermont High Percent. Mariah K was bred by Richard Sellman and was by the great Headlight Morgan.
On Jesse's dam side, we have more of the Old Midwest Family in Indian Boy. Sunflower Girl was bred in South Dakota of Elmer Brown horses. Dark Orchid was Brunk bred.
