In this photo he is noted as being by A. Fullerton Phillips, who was breeding the High Percent Old Vermont lines, and whose band of horses, upon his death, went to Robert Lippitt Knight.
Mountain Monarch's sire, Pete Morgans, and the sire of his maternal grand dam, Peters Morgan, were both of the High Percent lines that are behind the Lippitts.
According to the information on the AllBreed site, he had four registered get but nothing that bred on.
