Another broodmare photo from the U S Gov't Farm which makes the horse look just awful.
There is a better photo of her at this link--
and considering her foals, she certainly had something going for her.
She is inbred to Bennington, as both her parents are by him.
Her sire, Canfield, was out of that great producing mare, Artemisia, who brings the strength of the Old Vermont High Percent Morgans.
Canfield was the sire of ever so many good breeding Morgans for the Gov't program.
Her dam was out of a Troubadour of Willowmoor daughter, Narissa. Through Troubadour of Willowmoor's dam, he also brings in the Old Vermont High Percent Morgans.
Narissa's dam brings in the Bulrush line through the Morrill family; she also brings in a cross to that good High Percent stallion, Gifford.
Daniel Lambert is behind Narissa twice.
Narissa was a good producing mare with many good breeding horses to her credit.
Norma's produce include Broadwall Maggie Jane, Fleetfield, Silkoline, Tivoli, Trophy, UVM Annandale, UVM Enchantor, UVM Flash, UVM Gates, UVM Heather, UVM Kit, and UVM Rebel.
