Her pedigree was Lippitt royalty, with line breeding to many of those Old Vermont High Percent Morgans.
What a grand Lippitt mare she was! Proven in more than one Vermont 100 Mile Competition Ride, winner in-hand in the show ring, producer of many important breeding horses. Much has been written about her and I am not going to repeat it here, due to lack of time.
This is a link to her progeny list. Most of hers did breed on and she has descendants today who are treasured for her appearance in a pedigree.
I will add that this was the Lippitt that first caught my attention to Lippitts. The Nekomia "look" was still strong back in 1979. Her temperament was also strong; she had opinions and she expressed those opinions. Some of her descendants got that, some did not. I had one person who knew her well, tell me that the reason she did so well in the Competitive Rides was that she was "too Bull-Headed to let another horse in front of her." I can believe that as one of our first Morgan mares, with 2 close crosses to L. Miss Nekomia was the same way. On a ride with other horses, she was in front, and that was that!
