Hedlite. Western Livestock Journal, August 1938

Bred by Duval Williams, CA, Hedlite's parents were both out of the Richard Sellman bred mare, Joeb. She was by Joe Bailey by Headlight Morgan. Headlight Morgan was also the sire of Redwood Morgan, who was the sire of Blackhaux (sire of Hedlite), thus making Blackhaux inbred to Headlight Morgan.
Hedlite sired 20 registered Morgans; ten of those had progeny of their own.
Among those are:
--Dolly S., dam of Ramona prefix horses. Her son, Ramona Tomahawk, went to New York and sired for Delmaytion, Arona, Andrews, and others. Dolly's daughter, Ramona Redwing, had foals for Ramona, and also Rita Redwing who was dam for Malibu's Morgans. Another Dolly S daughter, Ramona Moonglow, had foals for Ramona and San De prefixes. Moonglow comes down to some Dragonfire prefix horses.
--Some Cresta prefix mares, some had foals.
--Hedlite's Bob E A, sire of more Hedlite prefix.
--Hedlite's Rudy T, sired some Ramona prefix horses. Ramona Black Hawk sired for Castle and others.
--Hedlite' Sonny Boy, sired some.

His progeny were used in various breeding programs and his descendants also. But, so sadly, very little of his blood, if any, comes to today. Yet, another loss to today's breeders.
