He had a good old California pedigree.
His sire, Uhlan-Ro, was bred by Hearst and was sired by the Gov't Farm, Uhlan. The dam, Reba Ro, of Uhlan-Ro, was bred by Roland Hill and was sired by the Brunk bred Pongee Morgan who was used by Hill for a short time. Reba Ro's dam was a Sellman mare by Red Oak.
The dam of Sim-Ro was the Roland Hill bred Deana Star, she sired by Sparbeau who was bred by Elmer Brown, Kansas. Sparbeau was well liked by Hill but he died relatively young (in an accident if I recall correctly).
Deana Star's dam was Deana B, also bred by Hill, and sired by Querido from the Gov't Farm, and out of another Sellman mare by Red Oak.
Sim-Ro had only four registered get with none breeding on.
