Mansphyllis. The Morgan Horse Magazine. 1950

Upper from TMH
Lower, a TMH ad, from the AllBreed site.
Bred by Francis Bryant, VT, Mansphyllis was sired by the Gov't stallion, Mansfield, whose dam, Artemisia, was of the High Percent Old Vermont blood.
The dam of Mansphyllis was the Brunk mare, Paragraph, who came from a long line of wonderfully producing mares; Paragraph was sired by Jubilee King. Note that Paragraph's grandparents were full siblings.
Mansphyllis had 13 foals. Some of them:
--Parade, who needs no introduction and has been featured here often.
--Junestar, dam for Broadwall, Oldtyme, and Merry, with her produce often breeding onwards.
--Broadwall Donman who went west to Montana and sired for Mortana Morgans.
--Broadwall Patills, producing dam.
--Broadwall Phyldon who sired for Circa's, Colbrook, Scott's, See Jay, and others with many breeding on.
--various other Broadwall mares who bred on a bit.
If Mansphyllis had only produced Parade, it would have been enough. But she went on to have others who went into breeding and using programs.
