With his sire line to Upwey King Peavine, this horse was a slight departure from Stuart Hazard's usual breeding. However, the rest of the pedigree is the usual for Funquest, utilizing Morgans bred by the Chilocco School of Oklahoma, Brunk breeding, and Morgans going to the breeding of Elmer Brown of Texas, and also to California Morgans.
The following is from the AllBreed site about Allan's Fancy L, King O'Fancy's maternal grand dam--
Color: dk ch AMHA #07224 ALLAN'S FANCY L: In early 1951, in Council Grove, Kansas, when she was a four year old, this mare and EIGHT other registered Morgans were sold by Sam Thole to Stuart Hazard and a friend for a total of $450.00. (Yes, that's correct four hundred and fifty dollars for nine registered Morgans.) See Gail Perlee's article Stuart Hazard and His Funquest Farm in the October 2018 issue of THE MORGAN HORSE. This mare became the dam of the highly regarded The Brown Falcon, Funquest Buddy Lee, Funquest Gold Hawk and other good Moggans. She has hundreds of registered Morgan decendants. Hazard started his Morgan horse farm with Allan's Fancy L and several of the other horses in that purchase from Thole---along with one other Morgan, a young filly, he'd previously acquired. |
King O'Fancy sired many for Funquest and can be found in pedigrees today.
