Skagit Vashon. Western Livestock Journal. March 1956

Owned by Major Louise Bates, WA. 
His paternal grand sire, Lobo, was pure Brunk and inbred to Jubilee King. 
His paternal grand dam, Highwoods Maid, was pure Thomas Adams, MT breeding.
His dam, Indian Summer, was from  Miles City, MT. Bred by US Range Livestock Experiment Station.
She was bred by the Gov't stallion, Monterey, and out of a mare who was by the Gov't Revere who later want to Clark Ringling of Nevada. Indian Summer's maternal grand dam was bred by Richard Sellman, TX. 
This is a pedigree of good working horses. 
Skagit Vashon sired 8 registered get. 
Some were retained by Skagit and bred on, some were used by other breeders.
