Yellow Bird. The Morgan Horse Magazine, July 1971

His sire was the Gov't Farm bred Stellar.
His dam, Quita, was bred by the L U Sheep Co., WY. She was sired by the Brunk bred Highview King from his time in WY, and her dam sired by the Brunk bred Night Tide from his time in WY. Night Tide was by the Gov't stallion Tiffany who was sold to J C Brunk. Night Tide's dam was Brunk bred. The maternal grand dam of Quita, Mallow, was typical of the early LU Sheep Co breeding. Her sire was Linspar, who was bred by Elmer Brown, Kansas. Her dam, Larkspur, was by Flyhawk, bringing in more Brunk. The dam of Larkspur was foaled in 1914 and was out of an LU Ranch mare and sired by a son of Dan Patch, the famous pacing Standardbred.
Yellow Bird had only 22 registered get. Twilight Golden Dream is his best known, having 47 registered get, many for the Mineral and SierraGold prefixes.
