1936
bred by Hearst Sunical Land & Packing Corp. CA
(Mountcrest Sellman x Red Dot)
Mountcrest Sellman--(Joe Bailey x Kitty E.) 1921, bred by Richard Sellman, TX. sold in utero to Reginald Parsons, Mountcrest Ranch, CA.
Red Dot--(Pongee Morgan x Rodota) 1928, bred by Roland Hill, CA had 6 registered foals. Her dam was bred by Richard Sellman. Her sire was the good Brunk stallion.
Although he spent much of his life in an area that had few Morgan mares, he sired 62 registered get, and likely many 1/2 Morgans.
Many of his registered get bred on and were important in their own rights.
Just a few of these were:
Blackman--a very important stallion with descendants today
Red Gates--good sire with some good breeding get.
Redman's Bay Boy--sire
Etna--good producing dam w/foals that bred on.
Gayler K.--only two produce but both bred on.
Red Bess--had quite a few foals w/some breeding on.
Redlass--only two produce but one was the important stallion in Wash., Keystone.
Heaven's prefix, none of whom bred on and were likely working ranch geldings for W J Halliday. There were also Heaven's prefix mares.
Kedron Cutty Sark--bred by Ina Ritcher who also had other Kedron prefix Morgans sired by Redman.
Billy Rebel--noted sire of many in Oregon.
Ember Red--dam of 12 foals, many of whom bred on.
Ida Red--dam of 10 foals, many bred on.
Wenonah--dam of 7, many bred on.
His get covered many years and their get went further onwards. California Morgan breeding would have been much poorer without him.
