Missouri King WLJ 1.15.43

1938
bred by O Z Parker, Missouri
(Halstead x Belle Wood)

Halstead--(Linsley x Helen S., by Headlight Morgan) 1923, bred by Elmer Brown, Kansas
Just two registered get, both bred on.
Belle Wood x-04899--(Blithewood [TB] x Linsley Belle, by Linsley) 1931, bred by Elmer Brown. Had the one registered foal.

Missouri King had just one registered get, Dixie Dream, bred by A E Swartz, Missouri, 1942. Had one registered foal, did not breed on.

Missouri King:
sold 1940 from Harold Gressens to A E Swartz
1941 from Swartz to CA Ranney,  Southern, Calif.
1944 from Rammey to John Hahn Northern Calif.

I would suspect that he had get from grade Morgan mares, grade horses in general, mares of other breeds, maybe some registered Morgan mares whose foals did not get registered.

I was not even born yet when this stallion was around. But the address in Santa Ana was not far from me.
In the latter 1960's when I was in High School, two sisters down the road from me had two beautiful bay mares that in retrospect had to be Morgans. They were round and broad and had double manes on both sides of their necks, and beautiful heads and round butts.
