bred by Hearst, his sire was pure Sellman and his dam's dam was Sellman. Roland Hill, breeder of his dam, used Querido as the sire.
His sire was one of the earliest Morgans to come to California from Sellman's Texas ranch. He sired many good ones here in California who bred onwards.

He had 17 colts registered by him and 26 fillies. Likely he had more colts than that number but those destined to be ranch geldings were never registered.
