Chief Alfa, by Chief Bugler. Western Livestock Journal 1941

I apologize for the horrid photo copy. This was done way back in the early 1980's on a photo copy machine. One can just barely make out the outline of the horse. He looks like a solid Morgan fellow. Of most interest however, is the fact that this was a Chief Bugler son bred by J C Jackson. He was foaled in 1933 and sold in 1937 to Fred Hearing of  eastern Oregon. He had two registered get, one bred by his owner, Hearing, and the other by another person in the same area. That one was a filly, Rose Primway x-06347, who had one registered foal, Abonette Primrose, https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/abonette+primrose who had 13 registered foals, many with the Arana, Aranaways, or Sonoma prefix. One was Sonoma's Marionette who went east and produced for Big Bend prefix & others. Another was Sonoma's China Doll, a producer. Another was Pam Arana, dam of Pam Pan, a good producer in her own right. Arana Primrose was also a valued producer.
The photo caption continues to state that Chief Alfa was used as a saddle horse and cow pony and was proving to be a worthy sire.

I did not crop out the rest of the page as it is fun to see the other items.
