Following are some photos of Cloudy and some Cloudy stories.
1988 or 1987 Scottsdale Show
I can't recall which Morgan show this was, but it was 1990. My favorite show for him was the big Spring Driving Show at the Pomona Fairgrounds, open to all breeds, in 1990. He was the only Morgan there that year. In a huge Pleasure Driving Championship class, he place a well deserved 4th over some very good entries, and beaten by 3 excellent entries.

"Where's Breakfast?"
He was always playful and laughing at what he could put over on the humans.
It was mid-May, and his dam was overdue to foal and we had to be completely moved by the end of the month. I had the vet out one afternoon for some other things & she checked over Bay Lady and said she showed no signs of foaling. Later that evening, we heard a commotion outside & rushed out to find a new foal outside the pen, trying to suckle a post, and a frantic Bay Lady inside the pen. We got that sorted out. The next day, the vet said it was not the first time a horse made a fool of her and it would not be the last time. Cloudy was laughing.
August 1985, both above. He was 2 years. He always took good photos.
Oct. 1984. Typical yearling--butt high
March 1986
One of his nicknames was Beacon Nose
The two above are from May 1987 at trainer's.
Everyone enjoyed him there. He did give the trainer some bad times as he was so opinionated on on what he thought he should be doing. Since there were cattle on the place, he got to be ridden in the cattle pen where he was a bit too enthusiastic and felt he should run the cattle and bite them. It was all a big game to him.
He had three correct, lovely gaits.
Oct. 1983, with his dam.
His preferred position with the tractor was alongside it where he could chew on the hydraulic hoses. He never lost his fascination with vehicles.
On the road, riding one day, I stopped to talk with a neighbor. I was not paying attention to Cloudy, so he stuck his head in the back of the truck and started to toss things out of the back to the ground.
Another time, another neighbor, and quick as could be he had his head in the back window of the car & was trying to rip apart the upholstery of the front seat. Whoops
Yet, another time, another neighbor yet, back window again & getting into stuff.
I warned Judy to never leave any vehicle within his reach. One day they thought they could get off the tractor and back on again. Nope, Cloudy got there first & was working on the seat of the tractor.
This was his first saddle. I kept the rear cinch loose to start but nothing about this bothered him at all.
He went on to be a good riding horse after his show days. I took him all over and nothing ever bothered him. He did like to play with the dogs. He would let one come in front of him, then stomp hard, just missing the dog and scaring the bejabbers out of that dog.

I did not get him running. He saw me & started himself.
July 1984. Spending some of his yearling year with mares to learn manners. He did learn manners, but the mares never really fazed him.

Photos of me & her at a local show, early 1982, showing in a nice class of some good horses where she got 2nd.

His sire, Ember Ethan, with breeder & owner, Bill George, taken probably 1981 or 1982.
Ethan was full Lippitt (Moro Hill Gay Ethan x Caven-Glo Lisa).
The photos below are from Judy, showing Cloudy in his great old age.
He had a great life there with large paddocks to roam. Age 33 here.
They would turn him out to graze the feral grass. Cloudy would watch the humans, wait, and when the time was right, take himself out of a ride on the BLM land. He loved riding and was a solid riding horse.
